I thought it would be fun tell each other about the orgins of our screen names, so if you want you can tell us or not its up to you.

My screen name is a name from a monster off of Final Fantasy 7 called MateriaKeeper, it sounded like a cool a name to use for a screen name

Well, my girlfriend thought mine up, cos I was in the process of applying for a PhD and stuff, so she thought it'd be a cool name! And I agree, I think it's kinda cool. But don't ask about the PhD... you don't want to know :)

Post 5 by Puggle (I love my life!) on Monday, 10-Oct-2005 13:59:24

puggle is the scientific name for a baby platapus. and well i'm an aussie, I think that platapus are cute in their own strange way, and puggle is just a cute word.

Post 6 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Monday, 10-Oct-2005 20:11:49

Well, I use to go under tc everywhere I went, but just before i installed the accessible chat client, someone I talked to from email lists suggested wonderwoman, since there was no other wonderwoman on there that he knew of, so the new wonderwoman was born. I liked it so much, I used it on hot braille, and I use it on e pals when I go over there, and on bofhnet, unfortunately you couldn't use over ten letters, so I had to shorten it to wonder. So that's how I got wonderwoman
wonderwoman

my name comes from a chat where there were too many the best and things, and well I don't think I'm nothing special either, but it's also a kind of sarcasm for all the people, that are many, who don't like me cause I'm not what they think I should be and want to make me see they are better than me. maybe they are, but not my problem...

Post 9 by Resonant (Find me alive.) on Tuesday, 11-Oct-2005 23:15:48

Resonant, because... um.... I resonate? I really have no idea, the word was just bouncing around in my head for linguistic reasons when I was signing up.

Post 14 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Sunday, 01-Jan-2006 11:03:31

well, it's a very diseptive screen name, because Galileo was a sixteenth astronomer and physisist. My middle name however is Galileo and I really like it. I like it because ironically, i have an interest in astronomy and stuff. so i thought it a fitting name for me.

Post 15 by alison (my ISP would be out of business if it wasn't for this haven I live at) on Sunday, 01-Jan-2006 17:02:50

Anybody can figure mine out if they know my real name. I was feeling very un-creative when I signed up, and all I could think of for a username was my real name. Now I think it's boring. :)

Post 16 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Sunday, 01-Jan-2006 17:34:23

Well I was trying to think of a way to use the rain, which I love, but also, to find something kind of mysterious when you picture or think about it. So that's how I came up with mysticrain.

Post 17 by nikos (English words from a Greek thinking brain) on Tuesday, 03-Jan-2006 16:41:00

My username is just my name and surname together. Not creative at all but i like it.

Post 19 by Big Pawed Bear (letting his paws be his guide.) on Friday, 17-Mar-2006 18:34:11

Post 20 by eccentric bruin (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 17-Mar-2006 18:56:40

i lived in the north of ireland for 3 years and during my time there i became quite fond of the lager, beer to you americans, called harp. a lot of people assume that i used "harp" because of the musical instrumen., sadly though my reasons weren't nearly so venerable, i liked to drink and harp was the best sounding thing that i drunk! lol. there you have it.

Post 22 by Dave_H (the boringest guy you'll ever know) on Friday, 17-Mar-2006 23:55:43

Callsign and first name concatinated. How unimaginative is that! LOL
